Multiplication Lesson that Integrates Podcasts

Evaluation of Integration

Teacher Interview:  Upon completion of this integration the teacher will be interviewed.  Questions that will be asked include:
  • Did you have any problems with the technology integration?
  • How did students respond to the technology integration?
  • What worked well?
  • What would change if you taught this lesson again in the future?
  • How many students were in need of remediation after the initial instruction?
  • How did students perform on assessments?

Student Interviews:  The teacher will conduct informal interviews with a small sample of students.  Questions that will be asked include:
What did you think of using the Flip Video Camera?
Was it hard to make your video into a podcast?
What did you think of the websites you visited?
How do you feel about multiplication after the lesson?
Which part of the lesson did you like the best?
Which part of the lesson did you not like?

Student Test Results: The teacher will compare results on Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 tests from this year to the previous year's results.  Previously, this content was taught without technology integration.  Higher achievement on the test from this year's students could indicate that the technology integration was beneficial to learners.
